Has anyone else received the error 'the package does not contain a valid
index.bom file' when attempting to install a pkg over http in version 6.01?

I have been getting this since our upgrade to version 6 of the Casper suite
and have yet to figure out what it is asking for. As far as I can tell
package maker only creates an index.bom file with an mpkg not a standard
pkg.

I was just diagnosing the same problem myself.

It turns out that if you run Casper Admin, it will tell you some of your files do not contain a bill of materials file, and it is needed for HTTP distribution. It will then offer to create them for you.

Hope that works for you (and for us, for that matter).
