Device still showing DEP enrolled to reseller

Hi All,

We've recently been sending some old machines to a reseller. Before sending these machines out to the reseller, these are removed from ABM and then removed from Jamf.

However, our reseller has gotten in touch and told us that they are still seeing the odd machine in Apple's master DEP enrollment database.

just wondering if we're missing anything and if anyone has an idea of how we can check for any other aspects of DEP enrollment.

It's also worth noting that there may be a delay in updates to DEP enrollment data, so it's possible that the machines have been removed but the updates haven't propagated yet

OR Probably it’s possible that there may be some residual DEP enrollment data that is still associated with the machines, even though they have been removed from ABM and Jamf.

Please check with mentioned remark:-

  1. Check the ABM Log and verify that the machines in question have been removed from the portal. If they are still listed in ABM, remove them again and verify that they have been removed.
  2. Contact Apple support and ask them to check if the machines are still registered in DEP. They may be able to help you identify any lingering DEP enrollment data that needs to be cleared.
  3. Verify that the serial numbers of the machines being sent to the reseller are correct and match the ones that were removed from ABM and Jamf. If the serial numbers don't match, it's possible that the reseller is seeing different machines in DEP.
  4. Verify that any MDM profiles associated with the machines have been removed. Even if the machines have been removed from ABM and Jamf, any MDM profiles may still be present.
  5. Double-check with the reseller that they are seeing the machines in Apple's master DEP enrollment database and not just in their own DEP account.

Regards,

Jay
