With Xserves being phased out, I need to find a Casper rack mountable
solution for our other offices. Im sure this has been touched on this list
but anyone have any experience using red hat or any linux distro as
distribution points ? I ideally would use a server mac mini to host the jss,
netboot and push authorized apple updates and then point the jss to the
linux box as a distro. If you have found a way to netboot and push OS x
update straight from the linux box ..... how ?
What services did you have to setup on the linux box? Just SSH and SMB ? How
did you format the partition, ext3, ext4, fat32? I would want the packages
to push directly from the linux box. Mountign the linux box to the mac mini
via smb or nfs is not preferred. ~Joseph
