Distribution Point

Not applicable

Hi,

We are setting up a remote site with approx. 30 machines that will need management through Casper. We obviously want those machines managed from a local distribution point at the facility, but does that machine have to be running a server version of Mac OS or can it be a regular workstation version?

It can be just a regular Mac, running pretty much any version of OS X, client or server. We've used a MacBook in a pinch.

I would just make sure it had a gigabit ethernet connection on the Mac and the switch.

Another restriction will be that using standard workstation will limit it to 10 concurrent connections, so you won't be able to push something to all of them at once using the distribution point on a workstation.
