Edit Wireless Profiles on iOS Devices

Hi All,

I have wireless profiles which includes a proxy pac URL, in the Configure Proxy - Automatic.

Our retail stores / Service Desk keep changing the proxy setting when they are troubleshooting devices.

Once they remove the URL, they can't add it back in. They have to wipe the device and re-enrol it for the wireless profile to fix itself.

I don't want to have to unscope it from single devices and then re-scope as somebody can easily set it Distribute to All, and all our devices would loose their wireless.

Has anybody come across this, is there some lock i can put on it.

I have tried it and i can re-add the line, but I have seen devices where it won't re-add.

Any ideas?

I suggest creating an Extension Attribute named 'Remove WiFi profile' or similar, with a drop-down option of 'Yes' (I have it show up on the General tab). Create a Smart Group where this EA = Yes. Then configure your configuration profile to have an exclusion for this Smart Group. Then any front-end Jamf user can set the EA to Yes, Save, then back to blank, Save, and the profile will uninstall and then install (as long as there is basic internet capability of course).
