I'm trying to find a way to exempt some of my computer records from the license software records.
For example, a hard drive fails and we send it for repair. I like to leave that computer record in the JSS for inventory purposes, and I change the user name/location information to reflect the repair. We'll then get the user another machine to use, and we have to install all of their software on it. So now, CS6 for example, is recorded as being installed on two machines, even though one isn't in use anymore. And in the case of a failed drive, there is no opportunity to remove the software and update the inventory before the repair.
In the end, this is causing duplicate entries in the software counts. Has anyone had any success removing these types of extra entries? Or somehow scoping the computers to be exempt?
