Hello everyone!
This is somewhat OT:
We are in the testing phase of Active Directory (Win v.'08r2)
implementation, also using ExtremeZ-IP (v. 7.1x14).
In my test environment, I have managed preferences enabled globally, in my
framework settings.
Automount works properly.
if I enable any (as in, even one) Casper MCX setting, it breaks the
automount of the afp sharepoint from ExtremeZ-IP.
Is anyone out there utilizing both ExtremeZ-IP and Casper MCX? Is this
expected behavior, and if so how are you handling this? I searched the
archives, and saw a couple ways to do automounts, but our students and staff
are divided into three volumes, so not sure how I could do that.
If anyone has thoughts or tips, please feel free to email me off-list!
Thanks!

Amanda,
We are only at the early stages of putting Casper MCX into play, and then
hit a big stumbler with one particular model of imac/10.5.8, which happened
to be the lab I started out working with...
Casper gets the en1 instead of the en0 address and the system-wide settings
won't take at all.
I did not see the errors that you (and Ron?) reported, and the MCX settings
worked correctly on a limited basis on other models.

What version of Casper are you running?

Wow, thanks for the quick responses! We are using Casper 8.0.
Since this is all new and alien territory to us, hard to know who's breaking
what! Any idea if this fix might be included in the next update?

Yes I think they will do their best to fix in the next release. You might want to contact support if you haven't already, but pretty sure they read this thread too.
Anyone else with 8.0 seeing managed preference import errors, or know if there's any work around (sent message to group earlier, but no response).
Maybe most haven't upgraded to 8.0 yet, or most don't use managed preferences?
