Few questions about Casper

Hello All,

Im posting a few questions and hope you guys have some pointers for me :

1. How to apply mac os 10.8 updates auto. in casper for non admin user ?
2. How to package updates for smart notebook with composer ?
3. How to remotely delete smart response and smart boards tools trial installed by notebook ?

SMART Technologies provides their own customization utility called SMART Install Manager, which should probably be used rather than Composer.

Just my 2-cents, but you might want to rephrase your questions here because the wording is a little misleading.

1. When you say "updates" do you mean Apple software updates, or any other kind of application updates?

2. I'm not sure what a "smart notebook" is, and again, what do you mean by "updates"?

3. I am assuming "smart response" and "smart boards" is a 3rd party application. Is it already in PKG format?

Without trying to be rude, these questions make me assume you don't have much experience with Apple products or the Casper suite itself. I would read the materials JAMF provides on its websites (and search YouTube as there are some nice demonstrations there. Packaging between desktop and laptops (well, anything that runs OSX) would be the same. The use of the term "notebook" isn't generally used in the direction of Apple portable devices much at all (not sure why, always seemed more of a "PC" thing to me).

Anyway - if you can provide better context we might have a solution here for you.

1. You may want to look at the SUS appliance that JAMF offers. Than you would just want to deploy a policy to apply the updates ( look into softwareupdate through terminal ).

2. Download the SMART Install Manager for packaging any Smart software.
