I've two middleschool hackers living in my home and we're unsuccessful in controlling MacBook Air and iPhone usage. Parental control settings on the MB Airs are bypassed 5 mins after set-up with a few UNIX commands and a reboot to create a new admin user. iPhone controls are simply bypassed by changing the time of day. I think my daughter expressed bypass as, "Duhuuuuuuhh!" Network level controls at router and firewall don't work b/c no matter how much I restrict usage of my network, they just connect into an xfinity of TWCable hotspot. So, we're resorting to physical device controls and quarantines. Not optimal.
Although it's probably a gross under utilization of jamf products, will the products help prevent these workarounds? And if so which products?
