Has anyone used Apple DEP for a school with an EDU apple store?

Our Apple rep said that DEP won't work with our EDU store yet. Is this case for others that go thru an Apple EDU store?

Eligible devices Only devices purchased directly from Apple in the US using your enrolled and verified Apple customer numbers are eligible for use and assignment in the Device Enrollment Program, provided they have not been permanently removed from the Device Enrollment Program (disowned). Device eligibility is also limited to orders placed within three years of your organization's enrollment into the program.

So these have to be purchased directly from Apple using their institution purchasing system, not by simply going to the education store from apple.com. You have to have a customer number to be eligible.

Our Apple rep was referring to our institution's Apple customer number when he said that it wasn't ready for our Apple EDU store. I just wanted to get a sense of whether anyone else was hearing this from their apple rep. My thought was that Apple had DEP setup for institutions like mine that have an Apple customer number and a institutional apple store.

@denmoff I would go to deploy.apple.com and go through the enrollment. I can't imagine that they would seclude anyone based on their customer number. I didn't involve my rep at all when we signed up. Just be aware that this is the two-stage enrollment that requires another party to verify you. It took us almost a week.
