We would like to be able to take a computer out of the box or a deployed computer in a remote location and NetBoot it to a base image, then have a script to auto-enroll the computer in Casper so that policies can then take over to continue the setup.
The only info we can find is that the computer is started up on another disk then using a script on that disk do the enroll.
Has anyone have information about doing this and where in the NetBoot image / process does this take place?

we have a Quick Add.pkg enroll our devices during net boot.

cgordy, how do you put that in the netboot image?

Use Casper Recon. Within it is an option to generate/create your QuickAdd.pkg.
Once built (5 minutes or less) drag that puppy into Casper Admin - do the general settings for the PKG and then drag it into your imaging config.
Click Save and then try netbooting again.

Thanks, I will give it a try. have you been able to do what we need?

Yes, that will work. Then again, if you use Casper Imaging in your .nbi you can automate the process (and it will enroll the unit for you barring specific circumstances in which you would add a quickadd to the package.) There are a huge number of threads dedicated to this topic as well as a lot of documentation from JAMF! Browse around the forum here and you'll find more than you can imagine about the process!
