I have been working to get our iBeacon product, Bleu Station, to be easy to set up using the JSS API. We are working on an iOS app to read the beacon settings configured in Casper and then program the beacon using those settings. Let me know if you are testing out the beacon functionality in Casper 9.5 and would interested in beta testing the iOS configurator app. Our idea is to make deployment of lots of beacon for workflow triggering drop-dead easy. I'll also be at JNUC 2014 and am looking forward to discussing how folks are using iBeacons and workflows.

I have posted some instructions on setting up our Bleu Station beacons using our setup app that goes directly to the JSS API. Here is some basic instructions:

@jrwilcox Sure did. I had to configure our JSS to have a trusted cert and then it worked.

I can get it to log in to the JSS. I have not been able to get the app to see a beacon.

I have tried that with the same results. The device never shows up to be set. I have reset the device to factory defaults. Still no good.

do you have a second beacon to try? did you contact support? They are really responsive.

Different result, the beacon showed up and it has been configuring for a few minutes.

In iOS 10, Apple is introducing a new policy key called “allowBluetoothModification” in MDM policy that can be set to true or false. The current beta version of Server shows the key for iOS in Profile Manager. It is identified as “Allow modifying Bluetooth settings (supervisor mode) ”.
