Yeah once the beta profile is actually on the device, you have to go to Settings and manually pull a Software Update. As far as I know this can't be done remotely. (I haven't tested trying to trigger a software update from the JSS on a device with a beta profile, but my guess is that nothing would happen since the software update in question is a beta...but that might be a fun test)
