InstallLion.pkg: casper imaging without installing first run tasks?

i'd like to avoid having casper imaging drop in its launchd plist and startup tasks upon success but don't see anywhere to skip that. this is using casper 8.22.

i'm installing 10.7.2 via InstallLion.pkg with a custom payload (default hidden local admin and firstboot script which triggers casper anyway), and the default jamf task gets in the way of my custom stuff on first boot. i'd rather not have to remove the plist somehow early in the boot process.

have any ideas?

likewise, how are people using InstallLion.pkg for imaging handling this?

I didn't know you could using Casper Imaging with InstallLion.pkg. I'm mainly using the pkg as a self service upgrade option for those who meet the requirements for Lion. And so far thats working out great.

Is there are a reason that you want to use the pkg with Casper Imaging, instead of say an InstaDMG BaseOS w/ your hidden account and firstboot script?

yeah, it's to avoid issues with block copies on SSDs. apparently, they don't perform so well when block copying, for many reasons i won't go into here.

installing a fresh OS via InstallLion avoids that issue entirely, but i've since run into others. it's making me cranky.

my preference is to build the image with instadmg and know that everything will work. can't do that here, unfortunately…
