iPad Sync Device Recommendations

Hi All,

Wondering if any of you could recommend a smallish multi-iPad syncing device (i.e. a glorified USB hub). We plan to use the larger Bretford carts for student iPad carts but I'm looking for something that I can have at my desk for testing and for mini-deployments (activation, enrollment, etc). I will connect this sync device to a MacBook Pro that will be running Apple Configurator, IPCU, etc along with Caspers MDM tools.

The ones I've heard about so far are (1) Lock N Charge iQ 16 SCB Sync Station http://lockncharge.com/products/iq-16-sync-station/ , (2) Bretford PowerSync Tray http://apple.bretford.com/products/powersynctrayforipad/ , and (3) Datamation 49 Port USB Charging Hub http://www.ipadcarts.com/solutions/DS-IP-SC-49.htm (probably bigger than I need at my desk but it was one that was recommended).

Any reviews on these products (good or bad)? Any other products like these that you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your input!!

~Joe

Hi Joe,

We have 3 of the Datamation 49 port units and they work as expected, no problems. They make smaller, If you're looking for something smaller.

I know Bretford has been working on improvements, so it's a little early to tell if the iPad carts are any better than the Macbook carts. Our district had a lot of power supply issues with their older carts. I'm not sure what that says about any of their other products, we decided to steer clear of them.
