Is MakeMeAnAdmin still an active solution or is there a better alternative now?

We have MakeMeAnAdmin working but now seeing that links to what was the latest version of the script on GitHub is a dead link now and the others are older versions.

Is MakeMeAnAdmin still I viable option or is there a different solution that we should be looking into?

I found this app, Privileges, a while back during my previous job. We never implemented it, but it looked like an interesting way to make a user an admin.
