Jamf, and SafeCom, and NoMAD, oh my!

Hi everyone!

We manage our school-owned devices via Jamf Pro, all laptops/desktops are bound to AD, and we use SafeCom as our print management solution. (Yes, we still have people who use paper.)

The problem is the students' byod laptops. I experimented with NoMAD and it sounded promising, but the print jobs are still being submitted using the local user account rather than the AD account authenticated by NoMAD.

I'm interested in hearing how you are handling this, particularly if you are using SafeCom.

Thanks!
Brian

Hi,

How are the printers being added to the system? We use PCounter, which is similar to SafeCom, however we also use kerborised SMB printing, this uses the KRB5 ticket which NoMAD gets as to provide the user. If your printer connection is setup via LPD then it will always fall back to user the local user.
