Jamf Pro and Java 5.7.7 Requirements

Contributor II

Anyone else slightly frustrated by the quality of responses from Jamf Support as of late?

Thank you for reaching out to Jamf Support. We are happy to help!

What the release notes are referring to is that some instances are still running on Java 5.7.7 and below. Those instances of Java will need to updated before upgrading to the newer versions of Jamf Pro. In your case you do not need to worry about upgrading Java at this point.

Let me know if that answers your question or if more explanation is needed.

Thank you and have a wonderful rest of the day!

Ha! Well you try talking about migrating to MySQL 8 with all the character set changes that will be required.

I personally would have addressed this privately and not included the rep's information.

@bpavlov Yeah, well, that seems to be falling on deaf ears, so here we are.

And by "rep's information", you mean the first name and the general Jamf Support number?
