I'm coming into an environment using on-prem JAMF that needs a rebuild/migration. Based on system requirements for 10.18 it supports RHEL 7 and Windows 2019. Is there anything to consider when choosing OS? Caveats that come to mind? Experiences you've had with one or the other? I'm a much more proficient Windows SysAdmin than a Linux SysAdmin.

@kaybykats Is Ubuntu an option in your environment? That seems to be Jamf's preferred server OS for Jamf Pro. If not, I'd definitely choose RHEL 7 over Windows Server.

Having managed jamf on both windows and RHEL, I much prefer RHEL. Windows has always caused me grief with upgrades (especially with Java). RHEL has always been a breeze for me to manage and maintain.

That being said, the best OS is the one you are more comfortable with as long as it’s supported. There isn’t really a difference with running Jamf pro on windows vs Linux (at least on the web/functionality side).
