Keeping Wi-Fi, even without correct date/time on OS X

A nagging issue I've always encountered here and there with our Mac deployment is that when a client computer loses the current date/time, the keychain is "broken" and as such, any password-protected known Wi-Fi networks can't be joined. This situation comes up a little too frequently, especially in a cart and classroom environment where a computer may not be plugged in for days and the battery fully depletes. When the computer regains the correct date/time, everything works as expected but this always means a trip to the help desk and lost instructional time.

My question is this - I'm assuming everyone has encountered this at some point, and as such, has anyone found any creative workarounds to the problem?
