Mac Mini Imaging Problems

We just got in about 20 Mac Mini's that we need to image and get to
associates this week and I'm seeing some weird behavior during imaging. The
install will kick off and get about 95% through the OS package install and
lock up the entire OS. Sometimes it will reboot after a while and come up
in the image like everything worked fine, and sometimes it'll stay frozen
and never recover. This seems to be happening randomly and I can't figure
out if it's a device model issue, a server issue, or a JSS issue. Here's
some specifics on our setup.

  1. Running NetBoot on a PowerMac G5 Server running OS X Server 10.5.8.
  2. The NetBoot image is diskless.
  3. The NetBoot image was built on a device and then captured on the Server using Firewire Target Disk Mode. We didn't use the NetInstall creator.
  4. I built the base OS package from the restore disk for the Mac Mini. It isn't working with my 10.5.7 package built from a MBP disk so I tried the Mini disk.
  5. When the Mini netboots. I'm seeing two dock icons for Casper Imaging like it's launched twice.
  6. Sometimes before the OS package install kicks off, I get a password prompt asking for a password to mount the CasperShare even though it's already mounted from whenever Casper Imaging launched and asked for a username and password.
  7. Sometimes Casper Imaging will skip the OS package and run through the other packages. The Mini will reboot to the folder with a question mark screen indicating no OS could be found.

Any ideas?
