Managed machine on WIFI will not go to sleep when the lid is closed

Hey Guys,

Weird issue here. I am testing this by pinging the wifi address from another computer.

This is a 9.82 managed 10.10.5 - 2015 Macbook pro on battery power and doesn't have anything plugged into it.
This device does not have any profiles or settings set by me, so basically managed and thats it.
Connected to 802.1x wifi network.

The machine will NOT go to sleep after I close the lid.

If I un-manage the device it goes to sleep after 15 seconds.
If I test the machine with ethernet 802.1x and WIFI off it goes to sleep after 15 seconds.

What am I missing here?

I can only imagine the Mac is connected to a service on the network that is stopping it from sleeping. Not sure if your JSS is external or not, but does it behave the same if its connected to a different wifi network?

It sounds like you've already tried un-enrolling and re-enrolling.

From what I've seen OS X, JSS 9.82 and 802.1X wouldn't normally have this issue. I would probably start looking at network traffic to and from the Mac, particularly when it goes to sleep to see what it's connected to.
