management account being removed, around same time as update jss to 8.6

I update to jss 8.6 a week or two ago, and now macbook airs that have been working correctly for months have been losing there management accounts and local accounts locking user out from using them. any suggestions? this is only some of the airs, I believe all the 8.6 jss stopped working, most or all the 8.52 seem to be working correctly.

this also happpens when imaging new airs, using target mode or netboot

Which OS version are you using?

We've seen this behavior on 10.8.

Yup Apple says it's a bug in 10.8 installer. They are supposed to be working on fixing in next version.
