Hello again fellow Mac supporters,
Today in a team meeting at work, I mentioned to my desktop engineering team that I belong to this list and receive valuable insights into what others are doing and how to NOT reinvent the wheel each time I discover an issue.
My question to all of you is whether or not you belong to similar lists for your windows work? For instance, is there a SCCM list you belong to? How about packaging applications for Windows 7, do you have similar mailiing list servs for that as well.
The JAMF community is far and wide to be sure, but I would bet that many of us deal with other platform issues and if we could pool our resources for the combined outcomes of our respective employers, we would all be better for it.
Thanks for any advice or thoughts on this. I know it is NOT Mac or JAMF specific, but again, no sense in reinventing the wheel if others already have resources they are using now.

You should look into the SCCM plug in which is now available with Casper.

That is the documentation for the support of SCCM. I have no personal experience with it, but if it has native support why not use it?

Mick,
Check out the forums and mailing lists at MyITForum.com (http://www.myitforum.com/forums/). You'll find a bunch of mailing lists covering just about every Windows management topic out there and then some. They've pulled my bacon out of the fire on several occasions over the years.
Not a mailing list but AppDeploy (http://www.appdeploy.com/) is still the best place that I know of for concrete information on packaging Windows apps. They were bought by Kace a few years ago and then Kace was bought by Dell. I don't know how much longer it'll be around in its current state but for now, it's still useful.
