In preparation for state testing, we need to globally wipe +500 devices to be sure they are prepared for testing. Is there a way to do this?

what does wipe mean in this case? remove all user accounts? wipe the os partition? format the entire drive? zero out the entire drive?

Based on JAMF terminology this is a process to clear the device, in all accounts to return to OBE (out of box experience). Part of this process is to clear the 'Activation Lock' which is the sole reason you must do these one at a time.

It does depend how deep you want to go. If it's just an OOBE your looking for you could delete the accounts and unneeded home folders in /Users with a policy and delete the /var/db/.AppleSetupDone file to have the setup assistant re-run.
There was a discussion recently on jamfnation about deleting third party apps as well. This would al be relatively automated and not consume loads of network bandwidth.
If your looking more for a full erase and re-image, that's a case of building the necessary config in casper admin and having it deployed. Quite a bit more labour intensive though and would put a fair amount of pressure on the distribution points and NetBoot server(s).
