Same issue as Sandy and Clinton in our environment. On certain machine with
Airport card, the localhost record is picking up the Airport Mac address
which is preventing MCX from being applied properly.
The solution presented by Todd to modify the ENetAddress in the localhost
record works well, but only until the machine is rebooted / logged into, at
which point the localhost record seems to revert back to the Airport MAC
Address.
I tried Clinton's method of creating a policy to continually correct the
localhost record, but with no luck.
Anyone out there seen this before? Have a solution to keep the localhost
record static?
Thanks

Hi Ben,
We bought 10.6 upgrade for all our intels, which solved this for most
models I have.
Even so I still have a few older white intel imacs that suffer this
problem, and even weirder, 1 or 2 in a matching lab that do this....
The only way I can get them to pick up system-wide MCX
is to unload the Airport drivers... not always a very good option.
