MSP Antivirus for Mac

Hey folks,

We're an MSP who recently started using Casper at our clients. We're also in the process of evaluating Antivirus solutions for our clients. What we need is an MSP focused, cloud hosted solution that works well with Mac. We've evaluated Sophos, but their MSP program is weak. Currently evaluating Bitdefender, and though the Hosted MSP part is solid, the product itself has been buggy and support has been poor. In long years past we used ESET, but they had no MSP product at the time, and though they do now, it is an on-prem solution.

Any experience with Mac AV geared towards MSPs?

Short answer, no I haven't seen AV geared towards MSPs myself.

AV is kind of a can of worms. Most solutions use up way too much system resources. Common threats on Mac are handled by Xprotect built into Mac OS X, which is also what checks to make sure Flash and Java are up to date. Also, practicing safe OS X management like keeping updates enabled as well as Gatekeeper goes a long way.

That only leaves adware like Mackeeper and Conduit. These are things you can block yourself using unobtrusive community solutions like Saving Throw, or you can always clean up after them with apps like Adware Medic
