Okay here's the scenario...
I was wanting to create multiple config profiles to perform different tasks, and I am not sure if that is possible. As an example, lets say I want to limit where the students open their applications,(i.e. ) /Applications and not /Users/*/Applications. But I don't want to have this in the same profile as the wifi, because removing the profile will remove so much more.
Also as a side note, I don't know very much about MCX's or Config Profile and would like some documentation regarding this, if anyone knows of any.

Are you asking a question here? If you are looking for validation I think that is a best practice, to make a profile only have one setting type in it. so a profile for security and privacy, one for loginwindow, one for wifi etc. FYI in Unix which your Mac is these days, you only need one * :)

Maybe a little bit of both. But that is exactly what I was wondering, creating a config profile that manages one aspect is what I was hoping for, but I wasn't sure.

+1 on Todd's idea.

JAMF Nation. Search queries like "config profile", "configuration profile", "mcx" will get you other good ideas. Make sure you check out the knowledge base as well as there is a potential "gotcha" using Restrictions in configuration profiles (https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/article.html?id=204).
