Hello all,
I just installed two Mac Pro's (Xserv is discontinued) with 10.6.7 and we
want to connect it to a SAN for storage. Has anyone had any luck with
this?
Thanks
Neal

Fiber attached to an EMC storage array. How do you view the provisioned
storage. Or what are the steps to view it.

Can you give some more details on the SAN? Also, do you need to connect it via fibre channel or iSCSI?
Thanks,
Rich

Neal-
We're connecting multiple Mac Pros to our SAN via Fibre Channel. We're using cards from Atto, as seen here: http://bit.ly/jEiQWJ (attotech.com)
We're using the Celerity FC-42ES specifically in our Mac Pros running 10.6. Drivers work well and the cards are approved by many storage vendors, HP in our case. In fact there is a special driver offered by Atto for connection to the HP EVA we have as well as many other storage vendors that include features proprietary to those SAN environments.
Thanks,
Justin

We have an Xserve connected to our EMC Celerra SAN with fibre Channel. We
also use the ATTO cards. They also have an iSCSI initiator as well.
Works great. They have EMC specific drivers which we tested initially by
plugging and unplugging fibers in rapid succession and failover and
fail-back never skipped a beat. You need to install the ATTO software to
view provisioned storage and set it up for the Mac to mount, etc. Once we
provisioned it and had the masking set up on the fibre switches, it just
worked for us.
