NETSUS Neboot service

Hi,

I'm trying to understand how this works.

I've installed NetBoot/SUS 3.0 and can't get the Netboot service to run. The light is always red.

Help would be appreciated.

in the "Subnets" section, add the IP address of your NetSUS server with 255.255.255.255 as its subnet. Upload a netboot image and that should be enough to get the service to enable.

After I edited the dcpd.conf and added my ip adress the netboot service starts and shows green.

I posted the file below but wihout my entire IP address for obvious reasons.

Now when I try to netboot a machine, it shows an apple and grey spinning circle and never stops.

I still would appreaciate help.

Thanks

Where you able to resolve the problem you were having? I'm getting the same results when I try to netboot.

did you download the ova file? Is your vm on the same subnet as the client you are trying to netboot? do you have a FQDN for the netboot server with forward and reverse lookups?
have you specifed the subnet in the netboot server section, what did you specify exactly
is the light green or red for netboot enabled?
how did you create your netboot image?
what machine are you trying to netboot? Is the client machine able to get an IP address ok?
have you tried netbooting the client in verbose mode?
the netboot service might come across as black magic but its really not. here is a good primer on netboot, i dont think much if anything has changed in recent years
