OSX Local Homes with OpenLDAP (OD) or AD - personalized settings

HI Guys,

I would like to switch from NetworkHomes to LocalHomes, but still use OpenLDAP for User Authentication. So basically I switch the Users to use local library/Home.

I already have a script which symlinks the Finder favorites from the current logged in user to the NetworkHome, just for an easier use for the studens, like saving documents vom applications like Word and so on, so it's easier to handle and they don't have to go with: GO->Connect-to-Server....

I have the problem that also teachers don't have their own device and do not want to further use fully Networkaccounts, because there to many problems all the time.

No this scripts helps me already a lot, BUT:
But maybe for personal settings such as: Firefox favorites or Safari favorites.. how could I handle that that this stuff could be synced while user logs out and logs in? Is there an easy possibility?

I know mail will be a bigger problem, but I guess they will use webinterface email...

Maybe you guys have good suggestions to handle something like that?

Thanks!
Chris
