Packing .app not sure if it worked

Has anybody tried packaging the Red Giant Software's ShooterSuite 12?
The vendor install is a .app installer, I took it and dumped it into the /private/tmp folder and did the installer -pkg. It seemed like it worked, but when I launched the app it said nothing was installed. So I did a before/after snapshot and manually installed it and when I deployed it, the same thing - nothing installed.

Is it just one of those apps that requires a manual install every time?

Try packaging up the mpkg bundled with the app. Its located at "ColorSuite-11.1.0 Installer.app/Contents/ColorSuite-11.0_b72.mpkg". The only thing I would be concerned with is capturing the files it uses to verify registration. Which looks like its contained in the Shared user directory under "Red Giant/.prefs/". Oh and make sure the mpkg only installs the packages you require. If it doesn't you may have to look into the pkgs contained within the mpkg. But that may not be worth it if you do not have a lot of clients.
