I've read (and heard) in the past that the permissions on the Casper
package share points
need to be set with "Others" having read only permissions. This
appears to be needed in our case
as the Casper share points are on the same server that is running the
Netboot service.
I just wanted to confirm this is the case and see what others might be doing in this regard.
Right now we use the Admin account as the Read/Write account to the
share point. We have another
imaging account as the read only account. That imaging account is part
of a group called imaging.
We have given the imaging group read only access to that share point.
So the permissions for the casper share point is set to
Owner : admin read and write
Group : imaging read only
Everyone : read only
This is all working fine right now, but the fact that users could
possibly get access to packages or scripts
does bother me a bit, so I just thought I see what others might be
doing in this regard.
