Pop-up Menu EA being set automatically at enrollment

I have an extension attribute that is a pop-up choice and should be manually selected. This EA puts the device in a smart group which is scoped to certain config profiles.
Recently, we've noticed it being set automatically at enrollment. Nothing is being done other than the web enrollment and installation of the certificate and MDM profiles. Once the first recon is done, the EA is set.
It sets it to different values, and these are machines that are not already in Jamf. We're using the Jamf cloud and running 10.18.0.
Has anyone noticed something similar with their instance?

Yes! It's a PI, supposedly going to be changed and fixed in 10.19

Our machines are getting smartcard enforced before there's even accounts, forcing us to blow away the machine and start over with it. Super cool feature haha

This problem also exists in 10.19
