recon.exe and Windows 8.1

Has anyone been able to run recon.exe on Windows 8.1 successfully? I've got a fully updated (straight from Microsoft) Win8.1 Pro install. Tried running recon.exe 9.63 but it just crashes while enrolling midway through (says "jamf has stopped working..."). I made sure to install the neccesary .NET framework updates it needed. But I can't seem to get it to enroll no matter what. Tried compatibility mode as well in Windows 7 but nothing. I tried creating a QuickAdd package but that also did not work. In fact it gives me an error message saying "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer packager."

Thanks for reaching out to the JAMF Nation community to try to get this issue resolved!

We have seen that this behavior is related to a defect in both v9.62 and v9.63 of Recon.exe.

Please try your workflow with v9.65 of Recon.exe.

Note: You do not have to update your JSS to v9.65 for Recon.exe v9.65 to work.

If you are still having issues please feel free to contact Support or open a case directly with your Technical Account Manager.

Unfortunately that still doesn't work. I'm going to tried a few older versions just for giggles. I'll still reach out to our TAM.

@bzavala what your looking for is in the CasperSuite9.82.dmg. You can find that under My Assets once you've logged into your account on JAMF Nation. Hope that helps.

You just got the answer in the last post. Do you not have access to anything under My Assets? If not then speak with your JAMF Buddy/TAM.
