Well, lots and lots of schools are going with iPads and the like and "computers" seem to be less desirable in many places where a tablet would do. I'm just guessing there, but I think this is the trend across platforms. Makes sense, not everyone needs a full-blown computer, and tablets are easier to maintain (says I that has done zero MDM yet).

That depends on what you mean by "easier" Its true in the sense that you can do far less with management of iOS devices than you can with Macs, but less options does not necessarily equal easier. Ask anyone who is managing large fleets of iOS devices in schools if wrestling with APNs, Configurator, Provisioning profiles, App Store IDs and the like is "easy" and I think you'll get some funny looks.

I do think Apple will continue to improve this, as they have been, but I don't see iOS ever ever getting to the state of manageability of OS X. Apple has taken a new path with iOS and they aren't interested in making it like other computer OSes. Whether that's good or bad depends on your perspective, and what feeds your paycheck.

OK, I meant "easier" in that users can do less damage than on a Mac. But I come from a place that allows all users to be Admins and it's impossible to stop all of the madness.
As I said up-front, I've not managed iOS devices so no offense meant to those that do.

I don't know. Of all the management suites, this is the one that I recommended and I did it for some pretty good reasons. While Casper may not do it for everyone I'd buy it again! Besides, 9 was a rough rollout. A few extra developers under Zac is always a good thing!

I love Casper. Maybe this gets JAMF more than just money - maybe Apple sees the value and will provide us some much-needed help on some things like MAS, etc. I know, but I can dream… :)
