Self Service error Contact administrator

If a software is already installed on a Macbook and the user tries to install it again from Self Service then in this case Self Service gives you an error message "contact your administrator". In logs it shows that DP is already mounted. The question is that a normal practice that we hide the softwares/ applications from the macbook if it is already installed on Macbook.

So what exactly is the question? How do you not show a Self Service install for something already installed? Or, something else?
By the way, the error message you're seeing and the log entries you noted aren't a Self Service issue per se. Its more a problem when using afp/smb sharepoints for your packages as opposed to http/s sharepoints. If you used the latter, you would not see an error about a sharepoint already being mounted because http doesn't mount anything on the client system.
