Suitcase Fusion 3 asking for admin

On the off-chance, has anybody been able to successfully package Extensis Suitcase Fusion 3 in a manner so that the software does not ask for admin authentication upon first use? This software is fast becoming my personal nemesis. ;-)

I load the straight Fusion v3 .pkg package as it comes from Extensis

You can also deploy the plug-ins via Casper. I just run Suitcase and
install them manually because I already have to log in to handle some
different software.

In the end I have no admin messages appear except when I go to manually
install the plug-ins.

I also have some settings for the Illustrator and Quark plug-ins if you
need to manage those as well.

if you have enough users, switch to the universal type server now, its so much easier to package.

Hello everyone. @Todd, have you already deployed UTC 3 with a Casper custom pkg or did you
simply make the Extensis installer run with a policy?
I have to update our UTS/UTC from version 2 and noticed the Extensis
client installer automatically get rid of the older components, when
manually installed, such as the "core" pref pane and I was trying to
identify the best way to go.
Many thanks for your help

Yes I have deployed UTC3, I use the package as it comes from Extensis, but I wrap it, put in in /.installfiles/UTC and I have script that will install the Extensis package as needed, so that when you reinstall CS or a new version of CS you can just run that installer and get the plugins installed. I have a separate package that deploys the plist file with the server settings, and turning on auto font activation etc.

Do you have any tips for packaging UTC? I hate their terrible post install scripts, but I haven't been able to figure out how to package all the plug ins.

Hi,

When I noticed the Suitcase Fusion 3 v14.2.0.mpkg package from Extensis, postflight in the package changes the permission to currentuser:currentgroup to Suitcase Fusion 3.app in /Applications. Normally it should be root:admin.

Does changing the permission to root:admin to Suitcase fusion 3.app will cause any issues?

Thanks & Regards,
Karthikeyan
