Support for iBooks format

Hi All,

Trying to provision an iBooks format file to an iPhone 6+ running iOS 8.4.1 and having no success. I pulled the following from the iOS device console log.

iBooks Author files may only be installed on an iPad.

iOS 8.4.1 does have support for iBook format. An .ibooks format book can be installed if a link was opened using a web browser. Any hints on what's going on here ?

Am I missing something here? It says clearly right there, as it is well known - iBooks Author files may only be installed on an iPad.

Check the change log for iOS 8.4.1.

iBooks improvements and fixes Browse, listen and download audiobooks from inside iBooks Enjoy the all-new Now Playing feature, designed specifically for audiobooks Books that are Made for iBooks now work on iPhone in addition to iPad Find and pre-order books in a series right from your library Improves accessibility of widgets, glossary and navigation in books made with iBooks Author New default Chinese font New setting to turn off Auto-Night theme in your library Resolves an issue that may have prevented Hide Purchases from working Resolves an issue that may have prevented downloading books from iCloud

Also if I open a URL in Safari pointing to .ibooks file, it opens fine in iBooks app on an iPhone. This also works if I airdrop the .ibooks or attach it to an e-mail.

Also if you install iBooks Author 2.3 on Mac, you can preview an iBook file on an iPhone by clicking preview in iBook Author.

So plenty of examples where an iBooks file will work on an iPhone.
