SWUpdate, Patch Management & 10.6 Machines...

We've got Reposado hosting our internal software updates for clients, while our 10.7 and 10.8 clients have no problem with patch management, our remaining 10.6 machines are failing with the policy.

The policy has "Set Server" and "Install All Software Updates" checked, and when run, the 10.6.x machines will fail with the following "The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1100.)"

It looks like something astray with the URL that's getting set on the workstation - i.e. the URL doesn't exist... The setting of the SUS seems to be appending to the URL that's set in Casper.

Anyone else seeing this?

Are you using URL rewrites on your Reposado server?
If not, you have to point each OS X version to the appropriate SUS catalog, as described here:

Also check your reposado preferences.plist and make sure you're replicating the 10.6 catalog from Apple.

Yes, the updates are definitely there - and the URL for the client applied manually works just fine - however, looking at the log for the failed patch policy, I see it trying to apply the following URL (with SUS URL replaced by me now) which obviously fails: http://SUSURL.goes.here/content/catalogs/others/index-leopard-snowleopard.merged-1_test.sucatalog:80/index-leopard-snowleopard.merged-1.sucatalog

The entry for SUS in the JSS is correct, and interestingly, a 10.8 client failed last night with a similar issue - the URL in the log came up as the following: http://SUSURL.goes.here/content/catalogs/others/index-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1_production.sucatalog:80/index.sucatalog

Thoughts?
