trying to replicate a jds but I get error

the error is "2013-09-21 15:16:35: ERROR: The distribution point could not be mounted. The replication operation will stop"
I just tried to set up a new share but when I tried to replicate the jds to it I got the above error. Any ideas?

Can you mount the share to a normal computer as smb or afp share?

Check any firewall entries. Can you do a port scan on the JDS to see if the ports are open?

Does the JDS show up in the JSS?
