I don't want to downplay anything, because I love dockutil, but I'm wondering what really changed here to warrant jumping from 1.1.4 to 2.0.0? The change notes state only that he removed the cfprefsd restart with using defaults instead. That doesn't sound like a major revision to me.
Also, I'll give this new version a try, but I've found Mavericks to be incredibly stubborn when it comes to preference changes, so I'm naturally a bit skeptical about using defaults here instead of killing cfpresfd. The latter has proven to work in almost all cases where other methods didn't, even beyond manipulating the Dock.

@don, care to poke Kyle and ask if anything else was changed that just isn't noted on his github page? :)

I was wondering as well after looking as I thought "cfprefsd" was used to alleviate the cached settings that would not take unless there was a logout/reboot in Mav's? There isn't a lot of explanation for that change...

Is dockutil 2.0.0 available in a .pkg download.

Not applicable

I found a munki recipe in autopkg, but easy enough to use Composer etc to build a dockutil .pkg.
