Wildcards / variables in Config Profiles

Is there a way to have a wildcard or a variable in a Configuration Profile? What I'm thinking is the Login Window displaying the computer's asset tag (which we store in JSS).

Look at page 327, it appears there are several variables, but none for Asset Tag.
