Hello!
Our high school is currently experiencing an issue with MacBooks and MacBook Pros not playing nicely with Xerox Phaser 3600 printers. Very often when multiple students attempt to print to one of our Xerox Phaser 3600 machines, the following error message pops up.
If you hit Resume it eventually asks for Administrator credentials. I called Xerox and they advised reinstalling their print drivers. Has anyone else seen or heard of this? I realize this is a rather random discussion and may not be applicable for this forum. Just wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone has come across this.
Thanks!

I have seem something very similar on any number of printers.
Somethings to look at:
Some programs/apps just seem to send bad print jobs occasionally. If I delete everything in the queue then 'Resume' the queue starts working again.
If the same print job keeps crashing the queue change something in the file. I have seen a font change make a difference.
As always update the printer driver as best you can. If it is a Black/While printer try using the 'Generic Postscript Driver' that comes in OS X. That is usually the most trouble free.
Some drivers work better with certain apps too. The PS driver might work best for Word but the manufacturer driver might work better for Pages for example. I do have users who have learned to switch the driver back-n-forth when needed.
Page size matters too. I have seem an program render a file for Legal size paper and the driver OR the printer just can't handle fitting it into a Letter size. That can cause queues to fail.

These 3600's are an incredibly quirky HP model. We have half a dozen here and they constantly have issues like this. We're printing via IP (LPR) with the latest drivers.
Nothing really seems to help. Sometimes they just get stuck on print jobs. No rhyme or reason. Some apps just don't print to this model well (I'm looking at you, Word 2011, especially if the .doc contains images).
We're investigating replacing this printer model with a less problematic one.

If your users are non-Admins, this might be helpful. http://lists.apple.com/archives/client-management/2013/Jun/msg00013.html
I'm pretty sure the proper group names are _lpadmin and _lpoperator
