automatically easing photos, documents etc after a time period (iPads, High School)

is there a possible setting that erases all stored data on a supervised ipad after a certain time period of lets say, two weeks?

I'm talking about clearing the photos, documents, files folders as well as app-specific folders like pages or keynote, or even third party apps.

I don't know if Apple itself even has a function like that integrated, but maybe the jamf function may even overwrite that?

Thank in advance already for your suggestions!

No, there is no built-in setting on an iPad to automatically erase all stored data after a certain time period. However, you can achieve a similar result using the Jamf. With Jamf, you can set up a policy to erase all data on the iPad after a certain time period or when certain conditions are met. This can include wiping all photos, documents, files, and app-specific folders. You can also configure the policy to erase data for third-party apps.

Here are the steps to set up a policy to erase all data on an iPad after a certain time period in Jamf Pro:

  1. Log in to your Jamf Pro server.
  2. Click on "Computers" in the top navigation bar.
  3. Click on "Policies".
  4. Click the "New" button in the upper right corner.
  5. In the "General" section, give the policy a name and description.
  6. In the "Scope" section, select the iPad devices you want to apply the policy to.
  7. In the "Execution Frequency" section, set the frequency to "Ongoing".
  8. In the "Scripts" section, select the "Erase Device" script.
  9. In the "Scripts" section, set the "Execution Frequency" to "Ongoing".
  10. In the "Scripts" section, set the "Erase Data After" field to the desired number of days.
  11. In the "Scripts" section, set the "Erase User Data Only" option to "No".
  12. Click "Save" in the upper right corner to save the policy.
  13. Distribute the policy to the iPad devices you selected in the "Scope" section.

Note: This will erase all data from the iPad after the specified time period, including all user data and settings.

that all sounds terrific, thank you for your answer! :)

problem is, we are using JamF school, not JamF pro and therefore there is now "Computers" section, and in the "Devices" section there is no gateway to a "policies" button. Thus, I cannot follow through with your guideline :( Any ideas on Jamf School?
