Systems Engineer - Apple Platform – MDM Administrator for Jamf Pro

Position Objective

Konica Minolta currently has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer as part of the All Covered managed services division.

The objective of the Systems Engineer (SE) is a key contributor to a Service Delivery team, helping to grow and develop a loyal, satisfied customer base and by serving as subject-matter expert and thought leader for other members of the service delivery organization, including systems engineers, technicians, project managers, and service delivery leadership. SEs act as technical advisors, MDM platform administrators, process designers, and influencers in all areas of our business, including project and managed services.

Essential Job Functions 

We are seeking someone to join our Jamf MSP team to assist in the continued build out of our platform. If you are interested in building things and working with a team of other Apple platform engineers, you may be perfect for this role.

In conjunction with the director of service delivery and peer engineers, support customer account management objectives including but not limited to:

  • Adherence to agreed upon and/or documented engineering standards and best practices
  • Assist in the design and deployment of IT infrastructures and protection strategies to support client business plans.
  • Develop and maintain client environment documentation
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to review the best practices and implementation approaches
  • Lead the setup and onboarding of new customer accounts from a technical and service delivery perspective.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that engineers are cross-trained in customer account details.
  • Act as technical escalation point for Support Specialists and Systems Engineers within other teams.
  • Participate in successful completion of project work including analysis, design, development, documentation, and testing of client network operations.
  • Implement network infrastructure and security policies that promote client’s objectives.
  • Perform quality assurance activities to ensure standardization of best practices.
  • Be responsible for driving the identification of new revenue opportunities, primarily via projects, within their assigned client base.
  • Serve as scalation point for clients, team members and other departments for services.
  • Identify quality issues and risk to client satisfaction and focus on client management and retention
  • Support employee retention initiatives and communicate gaps or deficiencies in programs.
  • Provide limited sales support for both existing clients and prospects.
  • May be required to perform billable activities primarily due to emergencies and Vacation/time off coverage for their team member.
  • Employee may perform other related duties as requested to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

  • Ability to coach and mentor technical and non-technical customers in key topics with clear demonstration and documentation.
  • While the role is remote, some travel will be required. Candidate will possess valid and clear drivers license and current passport

 

Specific Competencies

  • Demonstrable proficiency with command line and scripting with common automation languages (e.g., bash, Python, etc).
  • Expert-level skills with endpoint management and MDM tools specific to the platform including Jamf Pro. Other MDMs a plus, including Airwatch, Intune. Experience with Munki will differentiate the candidate from competitors.
  • 5 years in-depth field experience deploying and supporting mixed Mac/PC environments.
  • Minimum 5 years professional Mac support experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Expert-level skills supporting Apple technologies in an enterprise environment, including DEP, VPP, ABM, identity management, single sign-on, share access, hosted services, and endpoint security best practices.
  • Cross-platform integration expertise with AD plug-in, NoMAD, Enterprise Connect.
  • Environment and infrastructure experience for Apple platform optimization in an enterprise environment, including switch optimization, wireless optimization, and content caching.
  • Deployment experience at scale with Mac and iOS devices.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet a plus.

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • The following industry certifications are required (or equivalent as judged by hiring panel):
    • Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC)*
    • Jamf Administrator, CCE, CCA, 300 or higher*
  • 5 years in-depth field experience deploying and supporting mixed Mac/PC environments

*Familiarity with the latest macOS and iOS, Apple hardware and Apple toolsets is required and may be measured though a variety of means. Latest Apple Certifications (e.g., ACTC minimum). Older certifications (e.g., ACSA) will be considered relevant. Jamf certifications are considered highly relevant, including Jamf Certified Tech, Jamf Certified Admin, Jamf Certified Expert, Certified Casper Technician (CCT), Certified Casper Admin (CCA), Certified Casper Expert (CCE). Other MDM systems or solutions are also relevant.
