I agree the @RobertHammen.Wrapping the pkg in a dmg to cache & install with the script, always done it this way due to the size of the pkg and to improve reliability

Had the same problem using 10.9.2 using Composer 8.73 Disabled On-access scanning on McAfee Security 1.2.0 and I can now create DMG's
