Hey Jamf Nation, I want to give the app a configuration that our server URL is mapped there. Unfortunately I can't reach my goal with the App Configurator from Jamf. The URL is not provided. Does anyone have a pList/configuration file that includes the server URL? Or does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thx :D

hello,We migrated our JSS from an LDAP connection to Azure AD (Cloud Identity Providers).But we are unable to map certain AzureAD attributes such as 'businessPhone' or extensions such as 'extension_3bf6422528194f1aae559105e4bace82_division'.Have you ever had this type of problem?Thanks for your help

Even though MacOS Ventura 13.6.2 was released over 20 days ago, Patch Management in Jamf Pro says that 13.6.1 is the "latest version" of Apple MacOS Ventura. This is a little annoying as we have different Smart Computer Groups and reports that depend on this "latest version" status to notify users (and us) that their OS is missing security updates. As a workaround, we can change the Criteria of the Smart Computer Group and the reports, but this will be annoying to do every time an update is released.I submitted a ticket with Jamf, and they said they are seeing the same thing on their side. Is everyone else seeing this too? Anyone find a fix for this? We have a managed instance of Jamf Pro, so not much we can do on the back-end side of things.Pardon my naivety--this is my first post--if this question isn't useful to the community in any way, please let me know nicely:)

Using Mut to update somethings in our JSS cloud instance, all templates except the user template uploads to MUT, when going to update the user template to MUT it crashes/quits. is the user template corrupted? would a fresh template suffice, any thoughts?

Hi Hive mind,I hope someone out there can help me or confirm next steps on this issue.  We have a fleet of 40 MBAs in our 5th grade.  I updated all of these devices to Sonoma 14.1.1.  Now, the teachers are saying that the computers are freezing. This seems to be a problem with the Sonoma update from what I am finding online.  I did find documentation that I may need to disable the mediaanalysisd.  Before attempting to do this on 40 computers (no, they are not in Connect), is there anything any of you have found that works?  The one thing different about these laptops from any of the Faculty devices is that the teachers use Classroom to over see the students desktops.  Classroom is at 2.7 which seems to be the newest level.I appreciate any insight.

Hi, We have more or less 50s Apple TV 2nd and 3gen deployed in our school used as link to our Interactive White Boards. All the ATVs are configured the same displaying pictures of our school and the name of the display to connec to, all with the App Exhibition.For some very strange reason some of our Apple are working fine but the Inventory Update is not working at all. The management command stays in pending. Anyone got the issue ?  

Hey all. We currently are using Jamf Pro for our school district managing iPad's and Macs. I am finding that even without a restriction to software updates or a deferral. I have tried the beta software update feature with no luck. Currently, Jamf Pro will see the command to OSUpdate Status, hang on it pending for a few, then say it completed. On the iPad however, it does not change and when you check for an update it states it is on the latest software allowed by administrator. Please help! 

Hello Everyone, I am looking for a script out there that i can use in a jamf policy to have a user login and have the computer name auto update in jamf so when the user logs in i can locate the computer in jamf and her name will appear for her computer name 

I'm trying to use the *.jce file I created on my main machine to a test machine so I can run the audit there. I've copied the app, the *.jce file, and the macOS_security-sonoma folder created when I chose my baseline to the same location on my test machine. I've also copied the Jamf Compliance Editor folder from Application Support and even the com.jamf.complience.plist file from ~/Preferences.When I run the audit on my test machine however I don't get a usable result just a result with practically nothing in it and NaN% for the score (which makes sense since there's no number).My custom baseline looks to have been loaded correctly. The modified and disabled rules are all correct. The audit just doesn't work as expected.

Hi,I'm trying to install Final Cut Pro via VPP. The mac performs the download but then fails to install. In the install log I see the following error: Install rejected with error: Error Domain=PKInstallErrorDomain Code=100 "Authorization is required to install the packages." UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Authorization is required to install the packages.}Any idea on what could cause this error?Any help would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, I'm currently searching for an effective offboarding workflow with JAMF Pro, as we already have a zero-touch onboarding setup. I have a few questions regarding this process: 1. How can I create a complete backup of a MacBook using JAMF?2. What's the process for uploading this backup to the cloud using JAMF?3. How can I repurpose a MacBook or wipe it completely using JAMF? (I believe we can utilize the wipe option in management.) If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!  

I'm attempting to image a Macbook pro running Monterey, it goes through the standard enrollment process but then instead of taking me to my organization's log in screen it loads to a local account log in screen, if I let it sit on the network for a while it finally prompts for the org sign in but it never loads the policies. Has anyone ever encountered this before? 

Hello,Does anyone know what custom privilege is needed to allow a group to update iOS devices through the Software Update workflow? I think I have everything obvious allowed but when they click the group they want to take action on, the "Update Selected" button is not present at the top.Thanks!

We are attempting to configure devices going forward without logging them into Apple IDs and having all contacts come from the outlook contacts sync feature.  However, when we attempt to turn on contact sync in Outlook without being logged into an Apple ID we receive the following error message: "Couldn't Sync Contacts, Try turning on contact syncing on your iPhone from Settings > Your Name > Contacts. If that doesn't work, contact your IT admin as your organization might not allow syncing."I can't imagine the issue being the later because our policies allow this and we are able to do this on devices that are logged into an Apple ID.Microsoft documentation claims "If there is no account connected to the device, then your Outlook contacts will be saved locally but will not be synced to other devices."So according to that we should be able to sync contacts from Outlook to the device without the need for an Apple ID.Has anyone else run into this and come up with a sol

Hi everyone,I'm trying to use MacOS Sonoma through the public Beta but with Jamf Connect it blacks screen. As soon as my macbook air M1 2020 boots up normally i get the jamf connect page. Now with sonoma i get few seconds of mouse and after that it black screen nothing is happening. i tried reinstalling sonoma and jamf connect not working. i tried to reset the authchanger through the terminal in recovery mode but it doesn't work. Do you have any idea?Thanks

We're currently running Jamf Pro 10.48.2 (on prem) to manage our macOS estate (mainly MacBooks) and looking to update to Jamf Pro 11. We held off due to the implementation of LAPS, however we're now looking to complete the prep work to make use of that functionality.At the moment macs are AD domain bound and users get a mobile account. We don't currently make use of any Automated Device Enrollment or Pre-Stage Enrollment, but instead use User Initiated Enrollment with some manual pre-provisioning steps prior to device enrollment. One of those steps is the creation of a local administrator account. The way we provision and enroll will change in the near future when we move to Jamf Cloud and Jamf Connect. FileVault is enabled as part of the enrollment process, so the original administrator account created gets a secure token, as do subsequent users that log in.In Jamf UIE settings, the management account is configured, but with the same credentials as the local account that gets created.

The top actually says everything.We have th issue, that some parents set up their IPads with Apple Child IDs and gave it restrictions, which are active during school time. Is there an option to disable thos restrictions when the IPad is in school? Thanks

Hello everyone,  I wanted to know if there is a script out there that can essentially have a user go through JAMF Connect and have their computer information populate into our jamf pro server with their macbook name changed already or have their user and location information filled in  pretty much on my test mac where i am testing JAMF connect i go through the jamf connect window to login and on jamf pro my computer is there but it just says Macbook Air i would like for it to say jsmith-mac for example versus just Macbook Air  Is there a script out there that can enable us to do that? 

Hi Folks Has anyone had this issue when changing our local admin password via Jamf in the Local Accounts payload and choose 'Reset' I get an error stating 'Error resetting the password for user' I am using Jamf Pro 10.27Tested on macOS High Sierra & Mojave, just keeps failing. Has anyone else had this issue or have some sort of fix

We have an issue where some machines keep prompting the user that their IdP password does not match their local password and are given the option to sync. However, when you hit sync, the login popup is completely greyed out (as shown below).In all cases, we have verified that the password is in fact the same. I'm assuming this is cached somewhere and maybe needs to be cleared? Has anyone seen this?

Hey Everyone, I wanted to know if there is a way to differentiate admin and standard users when they login to their computer through jamf connect  I noticed when i log in i am set as a standard users is there a change i can make to have it where some users are standard and some are admins? 

Just checking to see if anybody has come across this. It's only happening on 1 out of 355 Mac's in our environment. When the user goes to our work homepage or any work-related page that uses SSO he gets the below. He say's if he connects to the VPN it works sometimes. I removed the info from the message. We have a tool rerun that supposed to reset SSO, but that doesn't seem to work. We are trying to use Jamf Teacher (v6.2.9) to only allow certain apps during a Leason. When we run a pre-configured Leason, only some of the apps set to be allowed appear on the student iPads.Example: we allow MS Teams and Garage Band apps, but only MS Teams app appears, the Garage Band app is nowhere to be found. I have tested this on iPads with iOS 16.7.2 and 17.1.0, yet many of apps (all on the latest version) do not appear on the Student iPads when set to Allowed.
