Is there a way of combining sites in to one group? Here is the example. I want to deploy an application, in one of the options i need to select a site name. if a computer in that site it will get that application. but what if i want to deploy the same application to a different computer that was assigned to a different site? I don't see an option of selecting multiple sites.

Does anyone know if dscl -delete still works in 10.14 (Mojave)? I have a script that converts a local user to a mobile one and it requires the local account be deleted so i script a "dscl . -delete /Users/username" but all I get is "delete: Invalid Path" and "<dscl_cmd>DS Error: -14009 (eDSUnknownNodeName)". However I have found that "sysadminctl -deleteUser username -keepHome" does work in 10.14 except for the last user with a securetoken.

We added macOS Catalina to restricted software, a month later I excluded myself from the restriction and I still get the "The requested version of macOS in not available". Anyone else had this issue or know what could be causing this? How did you resolve this? Thanks!!

Hopefully someone can point out what simple thing I'm missing here. I have a pretty generic self-service policy to install "R" (Statistical computing software). The policy is scoped to All Computers / All Users, excluding computers that already have R installed. No limitations set. The only other payload configured in the policy is an inventory update. For R, I usually just download the unmodified pkg, run the package manually and if everything looks good, I'll replace the pkg in the policy. I began testing the Catalina compatible version that was released in December and the package installed successfully on High Sierra, Mojave, and Catalina. However, when I added it to the self-service policy it almost immediately errored out with the message "Error: This computer does not meet the OS Requirements for the package R-3.6.2.pkg". This happened on all three versions of macOS I tested (HS, Mojave, Catalina) The kicker is, assuming the issue was with the new package, I put the previous

Hello, My company currently uses Blue Coat Unified Agent as a cloud proxy solution. My Fleet currently runs Mojave 10.14.6 and everything worked just fine until 12/26/2019. Apparently Symantec did maintenance on the agent and now it automatically goes into failure mode on MacOS Mojave. Symantec says that the "solution" is to delete and reinstall the Entrust.net Certification Authority (2048) which is not possible without disabling SIP. That is NOT a solution. Oddly enough the agent still works on 10.13.6 and 10.15.2. I've installed a fresh version of 10.14.6 (no other software installed) and the agent still crashes. Has anyone else run into this?

Yesterday I "upgraded" to mySQL 8.0.18 following the Jamf instructions https://www.jamf.com/jamf-nation/articles/698/title. Everything went really well but I followed the instructions too closely and when installing v8 I named my new DB and user "jamfpro", then I realized when I was restoring my DB from backup that my original DB name and user were "jamfsoftware" Now of course I have no DB connection. I opened a case with jamf yesterday but never heard back, I'm not sure if they were open. I really want to get my DB back online over the wkd if someone can help. Attached are a couple of jamfpro commands that might help with more info:

Hello everyone. The login banner seems to fit into a uniformly sized box that scrolls if there is too much text for it. Does anyone know if it's possible to increase the size of this box so that scrolling isn't necessary? Thanks

Hi all I’m not sure if this is at all possible, but I am looking for an automated solution to move computers from one site to another. What I am hoping to achieve is to assign all new computers to “Site 1”, then once initial setup policies have run, the computer is automatically moved to “Site 2”. Any help is much appreciated!

Created VMware Fusion.pkg version(11.5.1) file using Composer, successfully installing newly in system and while opening shows error as" Unable to run VMware Fusion" (attached screenshot). if i use same package VMware Fusion 11.5.1.pkg to upgrade older version of VMware Fusion it runs without any issue. Does anyone know how to do this?Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi,We have one school with 1 to1 iPads where several iPads will not connect to Self Service WebClip. Weirdly the Self Service APP does connect and work as expected on the same ipads, and the WebClip, which is a single Configuration Profile district wide, works perfectly on other devices. The issue seems like it is at Apple's end when we look at the firewall. It's quite possible that it is not isolated to one building since most younger grades install their apps automatically, but none have failed that we checked.Any ideas on why this would be? Not making a ticket with Apple since they never really go anywhere for issues like this... Apple's System status is all greenjamfPro 10.17 onPrem

Curious if anyone else has been able to update the config to allow for Catalina updates with Netsus. I am running 4.2.1 if that makes any difference. What I have done is added the new catalog url to reposadocommon.py. ('https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/' 'index-10.15-10.14-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-' 'snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog'), I have also gone into Apache (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default.conf) and added the new URL rewrite. RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} Darwin/19 RewriteRule ^/index.sucatalog$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/index-10.15-10.14-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog I then test to see if this is working by running sudo /usr/bin/python /var/lib/reposado/repo_sync. It goes through all of the various supported versions, but stops at 10.14. Doesn't seem to register that I have added 10.15 in there. When I also then go to the URL wher

I only see three fields directly relating to FileVault 2. FV, FV2, and "FV2 Key Type". Does anyone know what are the possible values of the fields?

I'm trying to develop a customized PKG that would be used to install a piece of software both in-person and via Jamf Pro (two birds, one stone and all that). I would like to do things a little differently depending on whether or not Jamf Pro has launched the installer. Is there a way anyone can think of to identify whether or not Jamf Pro launched the PKG?

Hello i am new to DEP and Jamf so forgive my ignorance. My set up is like this: We have a DEP account and our vendors put mac's that we purchase in to the program. We have a JamfPro (cloud) and the connection between DEP and Jamf was set up (ie certificates and tokens were importer ect.) The issue is that macs from DEP do not transfer to our Jamf server, therefore when our techs setup computers MDM account installation automatically is not happening. Also what i end up doing is; Log in to DEP search for a mac by serial number and then assign that mac to our Jamf server.

Hello,Hope people are getting in on the holiday feelings! Anyways, to my problem.I have almost the same issue as described here: https://www.jamf.com/jamf-nation/discussions/22488/dep-prestage-issue-macs-not-picking-up-prestage In Short: Device is visible and marked in the scope of a prestage enrollment profile, but during the device setup, the enrollment notification window does not appear. With the difference being me using iPads instead of macs. However, for me atleast is that other prestage enrollment profiles are working as far as i know. Atleast with other devices.Ive tried using a different prestage enrollment profile for the problematic iPads just in case, but that didnt help. This same problem occurs with all of the iPads in a batch. but other batches have worked fine. Even batches that im still adding to jamf trough prestage enrollment.I've gone trough my device limit, could it cause problems? Any help would be appreciated. I belive i can bypass this problem by manually

Hi all, Trying to deploy XQuartz to one of my labs because another software my faculty use is dependent on it. I can install it manually just fine, but when I try to deploy (both by converting the given package into a source, and by capturing the installation using a normal snapshot) it comes up with an error that suggests it won't run on the operating system. Still, it runs when I install manually. I took a look at the detailed error message (below) and it looks like it's missing a library. I'm not sure how to get around this? It seems like it could be something that Composer isn't picking up during the installation. Trying to find way to diagnose how / why a specific keychain entry is getting overwritten for a few of my users. The symptom is that the user(s) complains that they are being asked for a Wifi password to our corporate network. This is being pushed by a JAMF policy. However for one user I remove MDM and re-added. I see the keychain correctly getting added with correct value but shortly afterwards the actual password in the Keychain was changed by something to an incorrect value. User can access the Wifi until the machine sleeps and need to reconnect, at which point they get asked for password. I have gone through configuration profiles and policies and do not see anything that should change (apart from Wireless push). Are there good ways to enable debugging or auditing so I can track what is making this change. Either JAMF is overwriting or an iCloud sync. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Hello! I'm trying to deploy the apex one agent to our macbooks through a policy in jamf pro. At the moment its being done by using a .dmg with the following contents:- .pkg (installer)- one folder with subfolder "conf" and a .plist file as well as this script provided by jamf:installPKGfromDMG.sh The scripts works as it should, but unfortunately only the .pkg file is copied and installed when the script is executed. The folders are being ignored - however, these are required for the agent to connect to the server and should be in the same folder as the .pkg when the installation process is happening. How can I adjust the script or the policy so that this folder is also copied out of the dmg file during installation? Thanks for your help.

So we started pushing out our first micro update (10.14.4 combo) and I noticed when a machine hits the dead line, it will install the update and reboot as intended. However when it comes back up, its not updating the JSS that its on .4 and since its past the dead line it tries again. Im thinking I know the answer but I wanted to check, i'm thinking i need inventory update scheduled to run at startup, and/or reoccurring check in. We dont reboot often so that shouldn't create too much extra work on the JSS. thoughts? FYI: Im just using patch management, with the update pkg uploaded.

I'm having some trouble with Microsoft Outlook and the Google Chrome. Both app quit right after they are opened. Follow the troubleshooting done about the Microsoft Outlook: • Removed the device (iMac or Macbook) from the Jamf Management; • Uninstalled Symantec and DLP; • Removed .reg files form the microsoft Office, located at the current user profile > Library > Group Containers > UBF8T346G9.Office > MicrosoftRegistrationDB.reg; • Removed the Main Profile form the Microsoft Outlook.app and created a new one, located at: Applications > Microsoft Outlook.app > Contents > SharedSupport > Outlook Profile Manager; • Installed a new supplemental update of MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 (18G95) released on 08/26/19. Happy Wednesday, Jamf Nation! We're getting ready to deploy Jamf Pro 10.17.1 to our production lane and just noticed what may be a possible behavior change with PreStage Enrollments. In Jamf Pro 10.17.1-t1574185757 > PreStage Enrollments > Account Settings > Management Account > Create an additional local administrator account, the check box reads: Show managed administrator account in Users & Groups In Jamf Pro 10.16.1-t1572055156, this reads: Hide Account Hide the local administrator account from user I've disabled the checkbox in Jamf Pro 10.17.1 and will advise after testing a fresh enrollment. Any and all insights welcome. Thanks.

We've got an emergency application that announces things like lockdowns on campus and when run manually prompts to access to control System Events. Since I don't want to do that for 600+ machines, I'm looking for ways to allow that especially for 10.14 and 10.15.

Hi guys, I am trying to run a script as a Self Service policy that will collect Vectorworks log files from a Users machine and add it as an attachment in the device's inventory. I found this script by Matt Taylor that is really good:https://github.com/matt-taylor934/loguploader/blob/master/loguploader.sh But I can't figure out how to get it to include the Vectorworks log file at this location: /Users/logged.in.user/Library/Application Support/Vectorworks/2019/VW User Log.txt I added a variable for the location of the log file to the compressed zip $vwFileLocation but its not int he output: I guess it needs the logged in user? I don't know how to get the logged in user. Or does it need to run as the logged in user and how do I do that? Scripting is very new to me so any help would be appreciated.
