Anyone heard of 10.6.8 breaking printers?

I actually just made a deployable package for this if anyone is interested.

I have seen a couple of forums mentioning it. Some people were able to fix it along with other weird things by running the Combo updater on top of the current version installed. So, if you have 10.6.8 updated using the software updater, run the combo updater and it would or should fix it. My wife's iMac dropped the wireless connection until I did it this way.

Some people were having an issue with CUPS and certain printers failing. Someone wrote a "Repair 10.6.8" app which actually rolls back 4 files (dnssd, ipp, lpd, and socket) from 10.6.7 and fixes the issue.

Search for "Repair10.6.8" and you'll probably find more details/the backstory. I personally haven't needed to do anything like this, thankfully...

I'm interested as well. Just heard of this issue affecting the rollout on our new Konica Minolta multifunction copiers.

I don't suppose this could be a problem with 64bit efi and drivers?
Depending on model/OS, will depend upon the default boot of the kernel. Maybe if you have a problem, you could try forcing 32bit and see if it is still a problem. Do you know what the kernel and Extensions were before updating to 10.6.8?
